Our vans are fitted with an ‘electric braking system’; which works in tandem with the towing vehicle. Your car will either need to be wired for electronic brakes or we have available for hire a Portable Brake Control Unit, which will be suitable for most modern vehicles at a cost of $50 per hire.

Yes, we hold a $750 deposit. This deposit is discussed upon return and released in full with the return of a fully clean and undamaged camper trailer – just as you received it. Generally, the release takes 3-4 days, but can take up to 7 days after return.

Yes, we do. If a reservation is cancelled more than 7 days prior to the start date of the trip,

• We will refund 75% of the booking total, including tax.
• We will not refund the service fee, including tax.

If a reservation is cancelled less than 7 days prior to the start date of the booking,

• We will refund 50% of the booking total, including tax.
• We will not refund the service fee, including tax.

Booking deposits are non-refundable. Deposits can be used in conjunction with one date change per booking, however, cannot be saved to rebook at a later date. Date changes must be made at least one month prior to departure date.

A $5 per day fee is charged to cover insurance for the hire.

We do allow our campers & hybrids to be taken off-road a short distance. This needs to be confirmed prior to your booking.

Don’t have the right tow vehicle or simply don’t want to tow? Talk to us about our drop-off service. Extra charges and certain restrictions do apply, so please get in touch for a quote.

The trailer needs to be returned in the same condition it was in when you hired it. If the camper or hybrid is returned unclean, we charge $100 per hour, generally 2-3 hours. If toilet isn’t empty & clean when returned, we charge a one-time fee of $300.

NQ Camper Trailer Hire can take no responsibility for valuables left in or stolen from the trailer. Insurance on personal property is the Hirer’s responsibility.

Pets are not allowed inside any of our vehicles, campers or Hybrids as we regularly hire to people with allergies. If you are found to breach this rule, the hirer will lose the $750 bond.

When you come to pick up your trailer, we will go through the setup process. Please allow at least 1 hour minimum. If you would also like, we can email you some information to assist with setting up and packing down the campers & hybrid vans.

As stated in the Hire Contract, before you hire one of our trailers, we need to make sure that our vans are suitable for your needs, and the towing vehicle has the capacity to tow the trailer that you wish to hire. This information is simple to find.

1. Your vehicle Manufacturer’s Owners Handbook. – Towing section.

This is where you will find your vehicle’s ‘Gross Vehicle Mass’ rating. Compare this with the weight of the Caravan you wish to hire from us. You then need to consider how much weight (i.e., your personal belongings) you add to your hire van, to ensure that the total loaded weight complies with your vehicle’s specifications.

2. The ‘rating plate’ attached to your car’s towbar. The information on this plate will tell you the rated ‘Maximum Towing Capacity” in kgs, of your towbar. This will be confirmed on pickup of the Hire Trailer.

The Air Conditioner requires 240v. If you are unpowered, please talk to us about hiring a generator.

Yes, they can as long as the tow vehicle has an Anderson plug wired to the start battery of your vehicle and is capable of 50amps.

All our campers & hybrids have 7 pin flat plugs & 50amp Anderson plugs for charging the batteries.  All imported European style vehicles will need to provide own factory direct conversion plugs suitable to vehicle specifications.

No, unfortunately going through saltwater creeks is not permitted. If found to be in breach of this, the hirer will forfeit bond deposit and be liable for full cost of repairs or full cost replacement of camper trailer should damage occur.
